The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Research Support Coordinator to work in Coral Gables, FL>

The Program for Anxiety, Stress and OCD in the Department of Psychology at the University of Miami is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to coordinate projects in risk and vulnerability for anxiety and related disorders. We are seeking a motivated RA to join our team, who will work closely with the PI and other lab personnel, participating in all stages of research. The position is for one year.

Primary responsibilities will be for a project investigating decision making in patients with hoarding disorders and affective disorders. The position will involve a range of responsibilities including recruiting and scheduling participants for research studies, data collection (diagnostic and behavioral), data analysis, administrative duties, IRB management, and general management of lab operations. A great attitude, excellent communication skills, good organizational skills, ability to work in a team, take initiative, and lead are highly desired. Opportunities to present at conferences and to write papers are provided, commensurate with interest and experience. In-depth training and personalized mentoring will be provided on an ongoing basis.

Successful applicants will have completed an undergraduate degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. Individuals with prior experience collecting and analyzing behavioral data, experience with programming and experimental design will be given preference. Core Responsibilities
Organizes, hosts and participates in community education outreach activities to recruit study participants ensuring high participation rates, and serves as the primary contact person for referral sites.
Meets with study participants to explain the purpose of the study and study procedures and to obtain informed consent.
Assists with the preparation and monitoring of IRB documents, administers clinical interviews and measures, coordinates all assessment and patient contact activity, and tracks participants through all stages of the research program.
Ensures that the data collection aspects of the protocol are implemented in a rigorous fashion, interacts with statistical analysts as needed to facilitate data analyses and study-related reports, and supervises the implementation of data quality assurance procedures.
Carefully handles petty cash for study activities, organizes data forms and assists in manuscript, report, and grant proposal preparation.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelorís degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field
Minimum two years of work experience
