Our business unit, Compliance Test Solutions (CTS) designs and manufactures capital equipment to test a wide range of components and products, including semiconductor products to help make them more reliable. Location: Field/Remote near Fremont and Santa Clara, CA

Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated Field Service Engineer to be a dedicated resource within the Compliance Test Solutions Service team with the primary role to provide onsite customer support and service. Perform customer support activities involving the installation, preventative and corrective maintenance, calibration, and emergency break/fix repairs of electronic equipment and sub-systems used for electrostatic discharge (ESD) testing of devices used in the semiconductor industries. Monitor and verify the performance and required maintenance of assigned customer equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Promote customer satisfaction through proactive, professional communication with the customers, sales, and factory
• Provide technical support to customers via phone or email
• Provide product training as required
• Provide support to engineering, manufacturing, and sales
• Calibrate customer equipment according to specifications
• Coordinate and perform scheduled maintenance
• Prompt response to emergency break/fix repair service requests
• Install new equipment. Provide technical support for upgrades and other special service programs.
• Administrative functions such as service reports, install reports, timecards, expense reports, repair tags, weekly schedule updates, daily check-ins
• Provide adequate documentation and reports upon completion of each assigned job
• Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate customer needs after hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Promote aftermarket services (service contracts, upgrades, accessories, etc.)
• Provide routine feedback to management and the sales department.

Experience Requirements:

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or Associates degree in engineering or Technical Electrical/Electronics/Computer experience, or 3 years of industrial/field service experience
• Ability to interact with customers and coworkers at a professional level and be able to work independently
• Perform Customer Services, including troubleshooting and repairing customer equipment and field installations of applicable products.
• Computer experience with PC installations and Windows platform
• Strong technical background with the ability to trouble-shoot electronic circuits to the component level
• Skilled use of diagnostics equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, waveform generators, etc.)
• Experience working directly with customers to resolve technical problems
• Competent in the use of computers for handling email, producing report documents and documenting field problems
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to travel within territory and willing to travel outside of territory when needed
• Good communication skills.
• Customer service focus.

Travel:

• Approximately 40-60%
• Occasional visits to Tewksbury manufacturing site
