The Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a temporary Senior Contract Specialist to work in Coral Gables Campus.
The Senior Contract Specialist aids in the preparation and negotiation of contracts to ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and expectations. He/she provides direction and work review to assigned department staff, serves as consultant to management, and performs the more complex work associated with procurement and contracting services for the University.
Researches, reviews, and remains abreast of developments in assigned categories.
Serves as the liaison between University customers and contract vendors in order to maintain supplier relationships to fulfill current and future contract needs.
Advises on the creation of policies, procedures, and clauses to efficiently and effectively achieve procurements.
Supports modifications to contracts and conducts analysis of alternatives to, and capabilities and characteristics, of the assigned contractors.
Utilizes price and cost analysis techniques to support the development of cost-related sections of solicitation documents.
Acts as department expert on procurement and contracting issues.
Works with the legal department as needed to draft complex contracts and agreements.
Prepares bids, specifications and contractual provisions.
Reviews or develops solicitation documents to ensure maximum competition.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Serves as backup for Buyer and Sr. Buyer, Software Licensing and Cloud Services team for software renewals and order requests.
Plans, implements, and manages new software depot site to facilitate the new user-friendly software download site for Faculty, Staff, and Students.
Assists Senior Manager with budget numbers and obtains and disseminates budget numbers for all outside departmental contracts managed by the software team.
Facilitates the implementation and management of University site and volume licenses.
Access software vendor sites to download and obtain necessary license files and keys for multiple versions of software for University-wide deployment.

Bachelorís degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
