We are searching for a Head of Legal Innovation to oversee the enhancement of the Wells Fargo Legal Department’s innovative capabilities. In this role, you will actively identify key areas for innovative transformation, develop plans according to varying timelines, and manage these processes by aligning innovation goals with the company's broader business objectives. You will also lead the Legal Project Management Team. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with stakeholders at different levels to identify and inspire areas of innovation and growth
  • Identifying innovation trends and business opportunities within the market
  • Leading a team to enhance the innovative potential of the Legal Department
  • Developing, strategizing, and planning new interventions that will drive innovation
  • Creating and overseeing a comprehensive long-term innovation strategy for the Legal Department
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to enhance innovative thinking around the company
  • Expanding on the Legal Department's innovative mindset and capabilities 
  • Advising Legal Department leadership on current and future innovation goals
  • Presenting new ideas and approaches to high-level stakeholders
  • Reporting on and adapting innovative interventions within the company, as required

The Candidate

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our legal team. A successful candidate for the role will be a highly skilled lawyer and communicator who is (1) skilled at navigating a complex financial services company, (2) knowledgeable on a wide range of topics relevant to investment banking and sales and trading businesses, (3) skilled in analyzing complex issues and matters and developing a work plan for handling them, and (4) proactive, self-sufficient, personable, creative, composed and flexible.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: project management, implementation, or strategic planning
  • 5+ years of management experience

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively  
  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient at project planning, budgeting, and oversight
  • Forward-thinking and adaptable to dynamic situations
  • A solid understanding of innovation and how it should be applied in Legal Departments
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
