The UHealth Dermatology department is seeking a Research Associate 1 who will understand and interpret research protocols and procedures. Participates in the publication of significant results. Maintains an overview of relevan
t research findings. Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice. Keeps abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research. Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens or tissue cultures. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment. Performs a variety of routine assays, tests, and studies. Performs calculations to complete research test results, collects data, and performs statistical analysis of laboratory results. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
Department Specific Functions:
Experience in mice handling
is required. Research Associate will perform research in the Laboratory for Molecular Microbiology, Department of Dermatology. Our laboratory conducts research that focuses on microbiomes of wounds and development of antimicrobials for wound treatment. The research associa
will perform experiments in vitro and in vivo, gather data, record and analyze results.
Incumbent will perform the following essential duties:
General microbiology techniques.
Molecular microbiology techniques.
Animal model (mouse).
The candidate will collect, organize, analyze, and prepare data.
The candidate will assist in the technical training of graduate and medical students.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelorís Degree in relevant field required
No prior experience required. One year of research experience with in vi
and in vivo infection models preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
