Sr. Applications Software Developer

The Information Technology Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sr. Applications Software Developer to work in Coral Gables, FL.

The Information Technology Sr. Applications Software Developer will design, develop, and support administrat

ive and self-service software applications, as well as build integrations between systems. This individual will be analyzing and developing solutions to address complex business requirements within Workday with a high level of reliability and execution speed.


Contributes in all phases of the project's lifecycle: planning and prototyping, design, development, conversion, testing and deployment. Provides guidance and training to less experienced programming staff. Works with functional team to determine operational feasibility and functional design by evaluating problem definitions and requirements. Applies advanced applications prog
ramming concepts to design, develop, modify, debug and evaluate programs for a variety of functional areas. Adheres to project plans and change management procedures. Creates and executes unit test plans to ensure requirement specifications are met. Collaborates with the functiona
team in all aspects of development including end-to-end testing. Prepares technical documentation as well as process flow documents including diagrams, charts, etc. Keeps abreast of current industry technology trends and changes to product toolsets. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets. Maintenance and support of all integrations already in production Weekly submissions of production jobs on behalf of functional departments Evaluates applicable industry best practices for possible adoption into our standards. Bachelor’s degree in relevant field

Certification and Licensing:

Workday Certifications Preferred


Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Extensive experience and knowledge in systems analysis, development, testing and implementation of complex systems.

Department Specific Functions

Deployment of integrations to production with the appropriate signoffs

Workday Experience to include:

Experience in Workday – Report Writer, EIB, XSLT, Workday Studio, BIRT

Working knowledge of Workday HCM or Finance.

Experience with developing restful/SOAP APIs using Postman or similar tools

Development expertise with JSON, Java, and XML editor (i.e., Oxygen)

Broad experience with relational databases including knowledge of SQL.
