About the Department
Institutional Relations develops and stewards philanthropic relationships with corporate, foundation, and government entities that align with the values and mission of the Art Institute of Chicago. The team analyzes and crafts processes to facilitate this work, including the cultivation and stewardship of gifts for operating, exhibition, and special project support. In addition, the team crafts communications that demonstrate the value of the museumís work to these constituents while internally representing the donorís intentions for support.
What you will do:
The Project Manager of Institutional Relations supports the philanthropic engagement of corporate, foundation, and government entities. This includes implementing workflows to ensure that relevant information is captured in the museumís CMS and support the stewardship of all department constituents.
Working with all Institutional Relations team members to capture and maintain data in RaisersEdge and the subsequent reports to drive department activity.
Manages and executes the benefit fulfillment of entitlements related to the Corporate Partner Program, University Partner Program, and foundation donors.
Develops and implements processes for distribution of communications, solicitations, and acknowledgments across the department.
Serves as a lead partner with the Advancement Operations Department on the processing and tracking all gifts received through the department.
Works collaboratively across the museum to steward institutional philanthropic partners, including proper recognition and arranging museum experiences.
Works closely with the department colleagues to maintain workflow tools such as grants and communication calendars, constituent pipelines, and donor files.
Maintains a portfolio of institutional donors leading relationship strategies.
Actively participates in the development of annual team priorities, goals, and expense budgets.
Represents the museum in external activities as needed.
What you will bring:
Bachelorís degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 year track record of experience in Development, Sales, or Client Experience.
Strong communication and editing skills
Ability to work well with individuals who have different needs/requests.
High level of integrity; strong work ethic
Flexible and collegial; strategic thinker with time management skills
