Director, Technology Solutions and Strategy
Technology is a critical component of the Enterprise Services people/process/technology market positioning. Effective technology drives efficient processes and enables consistent, effective service provisioning. Technology is often the most visible component of any service offer. This position is remote based in the U.S.
Reporting to the Vice President, General Manager of Enterprise Services, the Director, Technology Solutions and Strategy is responsible for setting the global vision, strategy, and approach. This role will lead teams in achieving market growth and operational excellence through improved technology. As the technology leader for the Division, this role assimilates and synthesizes technology innovation, customer needs, and business goals, into prioritized roadmaps and implementation plans through which to optimize our technology investment while achieving an outstanding position.
Establish a global technology vision and strategy in partnership with the General Manager of Enterprise Services, Operations, Analytics, Marketing and Implementation partners. This technology vision and strategy enables and supports the commercial goals, customer experience needs, market direction, financial goals, and the operational needs of the division.
Identify global technology trends and potential strategic opportunities arising from technology innovations; collaborate with Marketing to ensure that technology supports and aligns with the overall Enterprise Services GTM strategy.
Collaborate with cross-divisional partners to drive strategic technical thinking and deployment of technology solutions to solve Enterprise Services business challenges and provide a competitive advantage.
Partner with the global Managed Services, Asset Management, Analytics and Implementation teams to create a prioritization framework for technology solve-able customer and business obstacles; define & implement technology based process streamlining using a range of extensible platform and technology tools.
Develop forward looking Asset Management, Managed Services and Analytics technology development global roadmaps to build strategic capabilities with internal IT partners and external consultants, define & securing funding, frame development plans and timelines to support these roadmaps.
Direct IT leaders and project managers, prioritization of IT resources for the pilot, refinement and operationalization of technology roadmaps; engage with internal resources to integrate user VOC and UI/UX standard methodologies into the development process.
Lead and nurture team of talented business-side technology professionals with focus on end-to-end customer experience (both internal and external) including technical sales support, platform, support, development, and conceptualization. Supervise in a manner consistent with our organizational culture, based on four values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement with open communication. Actively seek development opportunities for team members and self. Promote a friendly environment, good morale and cooperation.
Lead and develop team in a positive manner, including professional development, recruiting, corrective action and performance reviews. Evaluate employees’ training needs, identify possible solutions and arrange for needed training and development. Ensure that employees are cross trained and develops employees to build a career path and succession plan.
Identify organizational change needs and lead programs to support evolution both to a new platforms and to new ways of operating.
Bachelor’s degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
10+ years in leading business-side global technology strategy and development programs.
Experience working in matrixed leadership roles supporting life science, biopharma, and production customers strongly preferred.
Results-oriented, high energy self-starter with high level of personal initiative and an attitude of continuous improvement; motivates those around him/her to persevere through tough situations and ultimately meet agreed-upon goals.
Demonstrated ability to develop global service platforms and lead global programs in cooperation with global teams.
Strategic problem solver balanced with operational, technical and practical implementation skills.
Tried ability to translate divisional business needs into practical platform development programs in conjunction in operations, marketing, sales, analytics, IT and technical teams to deliver quantitative results and business value
Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and build strong alliances at all levels, including close work with IT, operations, sales, product marketing, and executive positions.
Strong leadership skills characterized by the ability to inspire, communicate effectively, and drive the organization towards common goals with robust management teams.
Demonstrated leadership without authority in a dynamic environment with areas of ambiguity.
Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50 percent or more as required
