Vice President of Physician Recruitment and Development - Physician Services - West Orange, NJ
Job Summary:

Represents RWJBarnabas Health and supports the implementation of the strategic goals and objectives for Physician Services. Oversees Physician Recruitment and Development functions.  Position manages the growth and expansion of business development for physician practice partnerships and acquisitions along with all aspects of physician recruitment. Participates in strategic planning for network expansion and growth. Assists with strategic pillars, as requested by Medical Group senior leadership. Leads team in developing infrastructure, training, reporting, and process improvements for cost-effective, expeditious and successful placement and retention of highly qualified physicians. 

Essential Functions:

Collaborate and provide insight to Rutgers/ RWJBarnabas Health Senior Leadership on strategies for physician alignment and clinical program development.
Represents RWJBarnabas Health in engagement activities with physicians.
Identifies and evaluates trends in healthcare, local conditions, economic conditions and competitive institutions. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
Collaborates with Finance and others to lead system compensation policies for physicians. Assists with individual modeling as requested by team members.
Work in partnership with VP of Physician Contracting to ensure smooth workflows between departments
Responsible for policy development for Physician Recruitment and Development.
Meets regularly with physician recruitment manager and development directors to provide guidance.
Provide ongoing education, training and guidance for team members to ensure robust understanding of the Rutgers and RWJBH health system.
Communicates with hospital executive teams on their physician recruitment needs and provides recruitment team with support and feedback.
Supports Physician Development team to:   
Assess viability of physician practices for potential alignment strategies
Manage due diligence process
Function as representatives in negotiating with physicians and attorneys.
Oversee physician practice acquisition closing.
Collaborate with operations, compliance, legal, credentialing, finance, human resources, IT and marketing to evaluate the needs of physician practices being acquired.
Collaborate with Recruitment Manager to support the Resident Development Initiative through continued outreach to Rutgers and RWJBarnabas Health residency and fellowship programs, leading career workshops, 1-on-1 consultations, and other events.
Collaborate with VPs of Operations to ensure that onboarding/integration process for new physicians and practices is a smooth transition from recruitment/development to operations.
Directs the interview and hiring process of Physician Recruitment and Development team members
Oversight of the training schedules for training/orientation of all new members of the Physician Recruitment and Development team
Partner with Legal to create and update standardized agreements for work with outside search and locums companies.
Oversee vendor management process and facilitate new contracts or renewals with vendors that provide locum tenens, database systems, job boards, and other companies that support physician recruitment/development efforts.
Provide regular updates to Senior Administration and their designees.
Provide monthly reports to Senior Vice President of Physician Services.
Collaboration with SVP, Physician Services and Finance on annual budget.
Supports Medical Group executive leadership with projects and other activities, as requested.

Qualifications & Requirements
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required
MHA or MBA desired
3-5 years healthcare business development required, preferably in Physician Recruitment or Development
Strong background in physician practice analytics preferred
