Associate Director, Market Research, Bladder Cancer - Raritan, NJ - Janssen Global Services

Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is recruiting for an Associate Director, Global Market Research, Bladder Cancer based in Raritan, NJ.

Janssen has globally launched one compound in Bladder Cancer and is committed to bringing new treatments and technologies across all stages of Bladder Cancer with an array of Late and Early Development assets.

 

The Associate Director, Global Market Research, Bladder Cancer is responsible for leading and delivering key strategic insights to support decision making through primary and secondary market research. In addition to technical proficiency with a range of primary research methodologies and secondary data analysis, the candidate must be able to clearly understand and articulate key business questions, determine the methodology best suited to meet those objectives and ensure optimal study design and execution. He/she serves as the “voice of the customer” and must then translate "customer learning" into actionable recommendations based on key insights.

 

The individual will partner closely with the Global Commercial Leads to shape global commercial development strategies for all assets in early and late development in Bladder Cancer.

 

As a strategic partner, the role requires a collaborative approach with the marketing team(s), cross-functional partners as well as partners in the Regions. Due to the nature of the work, strong ability to manage complexity, think analytically, prioritize work and allocate resources accordingly are key for success.

 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative global primary market research to support products in Solid Tumors with specific focus on Bladder Cancer.
  • Manage and deliver global market share trackers and dashboards for Bladder Cancer to stakeholders. Ensure data correctness and timely updates.
  • Develop and execute market research plans for Bladder Cancer. Ensure alignment with Global and Regional stakeholders
  • Articulate, frame and effectively communicate insights, risks and opportunities.  Recommend actions.
  • Identify data/insight gaps. Perform market research to help inform those gaps.
  • Partner with the Global Commercial leaders in optimizing commercial development strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the marketing team(s) as well as other cross-company and cross-functional partners, including Business Development.
  • Facilitate and lead discussions with cross-functional teams regarding implications and relevant recommendations based on the insights generated from primary and secondary research and other analyses.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.  An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.   
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive business experience is required in relevant areas such as Market Research, Quantitative Sciences, Marketing Science, Business Analytics and Business Development.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required.
  • Primary market research experience is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities is required.
  • Experience in Oncology is preferred.
  • Strong learning agility to quickly establish a sound understanding of Bladder Cancer and relevant product-specific clinical data is required.
  • Sound business acumen, and ability to validate business assumptions, discuss business and marketing strategies with commercial leads is required.
  • A passion for detail as well as analysis of data from high-level view with a natural ability to look at the “total picture”.
  • Strong ability to “cut through” the noise, validate root cause directly with commercial leads, and strategically sums up context and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required.

 

The position will be primarily based in Raritan, NJ and may require some travel (5%-10%).
