Salary: $36,000

Motlow State is the fastest growing college in Tennessee. We are located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and have four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma plus 4 years of experience working with the repair and setup of microcomputers, or an Associate Degree/Technical Certificates plus 2 years of experience. Experience must include a working knowledge of microcomputers to include hardware repair, software installation, and troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Must be able to lift and move boxes that weigh up to 50 pounds and climb ladders comfortably. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong working knowledge of audio/visual equipment and audio/visual troubleshooting

General Function:

The Microcomputer / AV Technician works under the supervision of the PC Support Manager and helps maintain all microcomputers, classroom audio/visual equipment (including smartroom/ITV equipment).

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Maintenance and repair of all microcomputer hardware and software on all Motlow Campuses.

Technical assistance for all microcomputer, telecommunication and network users on all Motlow Campuses.

Maintaining and ordering replacement parts for microcomputers and related hardware.

Installation and setup of all new or re-allocated microcomputers including network
wiring and internet connectivity.

Installation of any new operating systems, peripherals or functional software that has been
requested and approved through the proper channels.
Actively support ITV and smartrooms while classes are in session and assist with the maintenance of same.
Assist with testing and preventative maintenance of all ITV and smart systems prior to the start of each semester.
Provide faculty training (individual and/or seminar) with respect to the use of ITV and smartroom equipment as required.

Provide appropriate audio visual equipment support for classes, conferences and other special events as required.
Provide, transport, set up/tear down, test, tune and operate sound systems of appropriate scale to meet the needs of various special events.

Other associated duties as directed, which may include smart classroom and ITV classroom support and audio/visual event facilitation, printer support, distribution of computers, mailroom distribution and help desk support.
