Job Description
Applied Metrology Engineer

X-Rite, a Danaher company, recognized nationally as one of the Best & Brightest Companies to Work For has an opening in our Standards Lab department for an Applied Metrology Engineer! Reporting to the Director of Regensdorf Operations & Metrology, youll be responsible for maintaining companywide measurement standards with the best possible accuracy; for building and improving calibration infrastructure; technical support to establish traceability of the measurement, ensure harmonization and compatibility with international standards; achieve operational excellence and influence the development of new products.

The Opportunity:

  • Maintain calibration systems and their procedure for optical systems and for color measurement
  • Analyze and solve calibration problems using advanced mathematical and engineering knowledge
  • Develop software to assist in development/analysis calibration/measurement processes
  • Use statistical process control to analyze measurement standards and processes
  • Recommend calibration standards
  • Make uncertainty, accuracy evaluations for calibration processes and color measurement

Skill:

  • Understanding metrology;
  • Coding knowledge and experience with programming language;
  • Good understanding of color measurement;
  • SQL data base skill set;
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders
  • The ability to plan, organize and work in a team, supervising technicians;
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of customers or business objectives;
  • Excellent attention to detail when testing;
  • Good interpersonal skills for communicating with clients;
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 17025 accreditation;

As an ideal candidate, youll possess:

  • Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in Physics, Engineering or other comparable technical degree.
  • High Integrity;
  • Strong teamwork skills across company lines in a highly decentralized organization;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Independence/self-starting (ability to deal with unstructured environment and ambiguity);
  • Bandwidth/multitasking capability (ability
  • Ability to work effectively in high-intensity/high-performance environment;
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
