Job Description
Communications Coordinator
Position Summary:

CNFA is seeking a Communications Coordinator to be based at our Washington, D.C. Home Office. The Communications Coordinator will work closely with the Communications Team members to ensure that all corporate communications activities are integrated to support CNFA's global initiatives and programs. The Communications Coordinator will also be responsible for managing day-to-day tasks including social media content development, public relations, and field communications activities as well as providing support for board meetings preparation, onsite events, and other pertinent tasks.


• Work closely with the communications team to support the development of content for social medical channels and marketing collaterals;
• Support logistics and overall event planning including Board meetings, and other pertinent events;
• Support the communications team to draft support media relations efforts to enhance CNFA's brand and mission, including writing press releases, media pitches, articles, op-eds, and blogs;
• As needed, provide support, and develop materials, graphics, branded proposals, presentations and leverage events and other opportunities to maximize impact with current and potential partners;
• Support the design efforts for organizational materials including annual reports, brochures, and newsletters;
• Provide field support in-country, regular monthly updates with the field communications team as well as any additional support needed by the programs in-country;
• Assist the communications team lead in execution of advocacy and strategic communications opportunities for CNFA; and
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience and Education

• A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Relations/Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, or other relevant field, with a minimum 1 year of relevant experience in outreach and communications work, especially with media relations;
• Basic knowledge and understanding of the international development landscape, including the issues, stakeholders, and clients;
• Proven planning and organizational skills, and ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple tasks;
• Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills. Spoken and written fluency required in English; Fluency in French or Spanish preferred but not required;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work efficiently and effectively with both internal and external partners in a multicultural environment;
• Excellent computer skills and ability to use standard technology packages such as Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office Suite;
• Ability to travel internationally as needed; and
• Current US work authorization required.

Qualified candidates will be interviewed on a rolling basis and we are seeking to identify a candidate with the ability to begin in early January 2021.
