DETAILED ITINERARY

 

DAY 1, Saturday, October 17, 2015
- Depart the USA

Depart the USA to South Africa. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.

DAY 2, Sunday, October 18, 2015
- Arrive in Johannesburg

Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to your hotel. Welcome Dinner at Moyo Restaurant in Melrose Arch (hosted by Bono Safaris & Tours).
Overnight: Johannesburg, Holiday Inn Rosebank
Meals: Breakfast 

DAY 3 - 5, Monday - Wednesday, October 19 - 21

- Kruger National Park and Panorama Scenic Route

Transport on Monday to Kruger National Park. The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers a wildlife experience that ranks with the best in Africa. Bono Tours and Safaris tour guides will be with you for the duration of the tour. Sightseeing and game drives are conducted with the tour guide in a Bono Tours and Safaris air-conditioned  vehicle

Overnight October 19, and 20: Skukuza Camp Guest Cottages/ Chalets with en-suite bathrooms.

Meals: Breakfast and Dinner included.  Lunch own account.

 

Day 6,Thursday, October 22 
- Soweto Tour

After an early breakfast depart on a  tour of The Apartheid Museum complex in Johannesburg, South Africa dedicated to illustrating apartheid and the 20th century history of South Africa. Then travel to Soweto. Experience a fascinating glimpse of the bustling neighborhood life of Soweto, the most metropolitan township in the country, setting trends in politics, fashion, music, dance and language. Visit Nelson Mandela's Soweto home, before proceeding to the Hector Peterson memorial, dedicated to one of the first casualties of the Soweto uprising of 1976. Return to the hotel for an evening of leisure at Nelson Mandela Square.

DAY 7, Friday, October 23, 2015

- Pretoria, Hartbeespoort Dam, Lesedi Village

The Pretoria Capital City Tour offers a visit to some of the Historical Sites including the Union Buildings,  with the newly erected Sculpture of Nelson MandelaPretoria is called the Jacaranda City - named because of the beautiful jacaranda trees that line the older streets and main part of town making for a beautiful purple October.

Lunch is at the scenic Hartbeespoort Dam  where there is also a bustling flea market to purchase local crafts.

Lesedi Cultural Village: Lesedi is a multi-cultural village and a home of 5 African Tribes i.e. Basotho, Zulu, Pedi, Xhosa and Ndebele. The tour includes a visit to each homestead, audio visual presentation, traditional dancing, & dinner buffet of the finest African cuisine.

DAY 8, Saturday, October 24, 2015
- Cape Town, The Lagoon Beach Hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to OR Tambo Airport for travel to Cape Town International and the Lagoon Beach Hotel. Dinner at The Crypt Jazz Club and Restaurant. .

Overnight: Lagoon Beach Hotel

Day 9, Sunday, October 25, 2014
- Cape Town, Table Mountain, Wine Estates
  

After a leisurely breakfast depart on a half day Cape Town city and Table Mountain Tour and visit various Wine Estates. End the day with shopping and dinner on your own.

Overnight: Lagoon Beach Hotel

Meals: Breakfast 

 

Day 10, Monday, October 26, 2015
- Tour of Robben Island and Shopping at Victoria and Alfred Waterfront

The excursion starts from the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront at the Nelson Mandela Gateway. The three and a half hour tour includes a return trip across Table Bay, a visit to the Robben Island Prison, interaction with an ex-political prisoner and a 45 minute bus tour with a guide providing commentary. Return to the V&A Waterfront for shopping and farewell dinner hosted by Bono Tours & Safaris.

Overnight: Cape Town, Lagoon Beach Hotel

Meals: Breakfast 
 
 

DAY 11, Tuesday, October 27

- Depart for USA

Transfer to Cape Town International Airport for flight to OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg.  Depart for USA at 8:20 PM.

DAY 12, Wednesday, October 28
- Arrive back in USA.
