Des Plaines, IL - Oakton Community College announces two tenure track faculty openings beginning with the 2015-2016 academic year in January 2016. The faculty positions are as Early Childhood Education and Physical Therapist Assistant faculty. Located in the near north suburban Chicago communities of Des Plaines and Skokie, Oakton Community College is a caring community of educators dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning. Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
The Early Childhood Education faculty hire may be asked to serve as the chair of the department. Prior experience with children in professional settings including early childhood programs, kindergarten classrooms, early intervention settings, infant/toddler settings, and home child care programs is required, as is prior supervisory experience in a community or academic early childhood education setting. Prior experience building professional early childhood community connections is also required.
Faculty hired to teach Physical Therapist Assistant will be licensed as either a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant and have a minimum of 3 years of post-licensure clinical work experience as either a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant. Two years of clinical, classroom, in service, or continuing education teaching experience and prior experience working with and supervising physical therapist assistants are also required. The individual hired may be asked to take a leadership role within the department.
