Oakton Community College Announces Two Tenure Track Faculty Openings Beginning in August 2015
Des Plaines, IL - Oakton Community College announces two tenure track faculty openings beginning with the 2015-2016 academic year in August 2015. The faculty positions are as English as a Second Language-English Generalist and as Graphic Design faculty. Located in the near north suburban Chicago communities of Des Plaines and Skokie, Oakton Community College is a caring community of educators dedicated to excellence in teaching and learning. Prior undergraduate teaching experience is preferred.
The English as a Second Language-English Generalist faculty hire will primarily teach higher education academic courses in English as a Second Language, and will have demonstrated an excellence in teaching these courses. Faculty with additional academic credentials to teach Composition and Developmental Reading and/or Writing will also be assigned to teach those courses.
Faculty hired to teach Graphic Design will largely teach courses in web design and is expected to serve as the coordinator for the department. Oakton seeks prior experience in chairing or coordinating an academic department from this faculty hire.
