Human Resources Specialist (Executive Services - FCIP)
The men and women of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are the guardians of our nation's borders. CBP, an agency with 58,000 employees worldwide, is responsible for preventing the entry of terrorists and their weapons into the United States, while facilitating the flow of legitimate trade and travel. CBP's major operational organizations include Field Operations, whose officers work at more than 300 ports of entry to screen passengers and cargo entering the country; Border Patrol, whose agents stop illegal entry at the borders between the ports of entry; and Air and Marine, whose pilots and marine interdiction agents help protect our country in the aviation and maritime environments.
CBP's Executive Services Staff is responsible for administering policies and implementing programs to support the Senior Executive Service (SES) program at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will support policies governing the SES personnel system. You will assist with the management and implementation of processes related to the recruitment, assessment, referral and selection of candidates for SES positions. You will help implement executive compensation, performance appraisal and reward systems to ensure that personnel operations are responsive to the needs of management. You will provide technical advice, guidance and support to executives and top management officials on a wide range of executive personnel services, policies, programs and operations. You will also assist in preparing a wide range of executive briefing materials.
