To Whom It May Concern:|
On behalf of HIPolicy Magazine and HBCU Connect, we would like to invite you to our First Annual Central Ohio HBCU College Fair in Columbus, Ohio. The event will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Barnett Recreation Center, 1184 Barnett Road, Columbus, OH 43227. We are expecting over 500 students from both middle and high schools within the Central Ohio region.
The founders of both HIPolicy Magazine and HBCU Connect are products of HBCU education and we understand the need to inform the community about the importance of attending and supporting these institutions. It is our goal to increase enrollment at all of our institutions across this country. Central Ohio has a wealth of HBCU graduates who are proud of the choices they made in higher education and would like to pass the baton of excellence to the next generation of college students.
We know that many of us are still struggling in this tough economy. Accordingly, we would like to suggest that your alumni who are residents of Columbus staff a booth on their school’s behalf. Alumni would be able to share their personal stories and offer guidance and assistance should a student plan to enroll at your institution. Some schools have strict criteria when it comes to recruitment and we understand that. Should you want to send a representative to our event, please feel free to do so.
This event is free and open to the public. All booths are free, but we do have limited space. We will be giving away door prizes and other gifts throughout the day. In addition, we will have several performances by local Black Greek organizations, a DJ on hand playing age appropriate music and a local radio personality to host the event. Our goal is to have at least 25-30 HBCU’s in attendance for the fair. I hope you will join us.
For more information or to accept our invitation, please call 614-424-6204 or you can e-mail us at email@example.com.
