Flex Transitional Living Assistants (FTLAs)

FTLAs provide live-in leadership and supervision to high school Seniors residing in the School's student apartments. The Transitional Living program is designed to ensure students develop the independent living skills they will need once they graduate. The FTLAs work extensively with the students to prepare them for post-graduate success.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a human services-related field.
  • Experience counseling and working with youth, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Experience with youth from poverty a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and deliver individualized and group skill development interventions preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and organizational skills.
  • Basic PC skills and knowledge of trends in Internet and social media.
  • Must reside on campus. No pets or dependents.

Houseparents

Houseparents play a key role in students' lives. Together with their spouses, houseparents are caregivers and role models. They nurture a family-like atmosphere in a School home, which includes overseeing the basics of the students' daily care.

Requirements include:

  • Commitment to kids.
  • Couple must meet age and family status requirements.
  • Each person must have a valid driver's license.
  • Each person must be at least 27 years of age.
  • Experience working with diverse children and youth, preferably from challenged backgrounds.
