In 2018, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Hennessy launched the Hennessy Fellows program. Thanks to a $10 million investment from Hennessy over the next ten years, we select 10 high-achieving, high-potential HBCU graduate students and provide soft skill resources, corporate development experiences, and financial assistance up to $40,000. These experiences include training forums and networking to enhance the exchange of ideas and direct exposure to the inter-relatedness of corporate, social, and economic systems.

In June, we selected our second cohort of Fellows who came from six TMCF member-schools (Morgan State University, Southern University and A&M College, Florida A&M University, University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law, Howard University, and Southern University Law Center). So far, they have attended the Hennessy Fellows professional development virtual boot camp and will follow up with online leadership development courses and assessments via the Hennessy Fellows Online Learning Academy.

I am proud to announce we are expanding the scope of students that can apply to now include more graduate programs! In addition to your best MBA students, we are looking for talented students pursuing corporate-relevant majors such as Masters of Finance, Accounting, Technology, Supply Chain, Communications, Human Resource Management, Computer Science & Information Systems, Math, Economics, Engineering, and Law/J.D., enrolled at an accredited HBCU.

The application for the third cohort of Hennessy Fellows is open, and we really need your help spreading the word about the program to help us identify the very best group of HBCU graduate students for this unique opportunity.

As a reminder, the Fellows will receive:
  • $20,000 scholarship per academic year
  • $10,000 stipend for other educational expenses
  • Curated professional development - immersive Boot Camp, online training, networking with C-suite executives
  • Development of leadership skills and professional advancement opportunities
  • 1:1 career coaching and senior executive mentorship
  • Up to $10,000 grant to implement a community “give back” project

This year, we are hosting a virtual Information Session & Pitch Fest and giving away over $4,000 in cash prizes! Below is the date to share with your network. Click here to register.

November 18th Webinar

Remember, Hennessy Fellows is only for HBCU graduate students in corporate-relevant majors with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Please only share this information with students over the age of 21. Applicants must be enrolled in the first year of a Graduate program at an accredited HBCU when applying for the Hennessy Fellows program.

For more information, please visit tmcf.org/hennessyfellows. Please consider sharing the attached flyer with prospective graduate students and colleagues you think might want to know about Hennessy Fellows.

The online application deadline to apply is December 6, 2020. Thank you again for your continued support of TMCF and all that we do to help our students achieve success on and off-campus!
