Hennessy Fellows Cohort II

Earlier this summer, Thurgood Marshall College (TMCF) and Hennessy launched the Hennessy Fellows program. Thanks to a $10 million investment from Hennessy over the next ten years, we select 10 high-achieving, high-potential HBCU graduate students and provide soft skill resources, corporate development experiences and financial assistance up to $40,000. Experiences include training forums and networking to enhance the exchange of ideas, and direct exposure to the inter-relatedness of corporate, social and economic systems.

In June, we selected our first cohort of Fellows who came from four TMCF member-school MBA programs (Florida A&M University, Howard University, Morgan State University, and North Carolina A&T State University). So far, they have had online leadership development courses and assessments as well as the Hennessy Fellows professional development boot camp in New York City this summer.

We are proud to announce we are expanding the scope of students that can apply to now include more graduate programs! In addition to your best MBA students, we are looking for talented students pursuing corporate-relevant majors such as Masters of Finance, Accounting, Technology, Supply Chain, Communications, Human Resource Management, Computer Science & Information Systems, Math, Economics, Engineering, and Law/J.D., enrolled at an accredited HBCU.

The application for the second cohort of Hennessy Fellows is now open and we really need your help spreading the word about the program to help us identify very best group of HBCU graduate students for this unique opportunity.

As a reminder the Fellows will receive:
  • Scholarship up to $20,000 per academic year
  • $10,000 annual stipend for other educational expenses
  • Opportunity to compete for a community-related project grant up to $10,000
  • 1:1 executive coaching
  • Access to online training forums, networking events, and professional advancement experiences
  • Development of leadership and soft skills via exclusive opportunities and experiences
  • Attend an immersive boot camp in the summer of 2020
Remember, Hennessy Fellows is only for HBCU graduate students, in corporate-relevant majors with a minimum 3.25 GPA. Please only share this information with students over the age of 21. Applicants must have at least four semesters of coursework remaining prior to graduation when applying for the Hennessy Fellows program.

For more information please, visit tmcf.org/hennessyfellows. Please consider sharing this opportunity with prospective graduate students and colleagues you think might want to know about Hennessy Fellows.

The online application deadline to apply is December 31, 2019. Thank you again for your continued support of TMCF and all that we do to help our students achieve success on and off campus!
