Miss Alabama A&M University 2007-2008
Posted By: Brittany Morton on November 30, 2007 Warm. Creative. Sociable. Articulate. These are all words that describe an exemplary young woman, and Brittany Morton—Miss Alabama A&M University 2007-2008; a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design and Marketing. The daughter of Mr. James and Penny Morton, Brittany was born May 28, 1986 in Nashville, Tennessee. As a student, Brittany has shown a commitment to academic excellence by maintaining a 4.0 grade point average, and has earned a Presidential Scholarship, President’s Cup, Dean’s List, Honor Roll and numerous other academic recognitions. Ever seeking scholarly endeavors, Brittany has maximized her college matriculation by using it as a platform for community service and campus involvement. She has worked as Editor-in-Chief of our university’s yearbook, and earned a national Gallery of Excellence award for her efforts. Brittany’s love for the Performing Arts has motivated her involvement in dance and theatre, where she served as Captain of AAMU’s basketball dance team. In addition, Brittany is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society, the President’s Executive Council, and the Student Government Association. As the reigning Miss Alabama A&M University, Brittany’s platform is “Purposed to Serve: Educating, Encouraging, and Enriching.” Her initiatives include but are not limited to serving as the coordinator of the Women Altering and Influencing Tomorrow Mentoring Program, creating the Queens of Heart Campus Queen Union and introducing the first annual Miss Alabama A&M University Scholarship Program. Upon graduation, she plans to obtain a Master of Business Administration degree and pursue a career as a graphic design executive. She strives to live her life “In a spirit of excellence,” and wants to leave her university knowing that she has contributed greatly. “There is no limit to your achievement when you have God, hard work, and sacrifice. I am a living testimony.” If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |

This is in response to ChaNita Groomes: You do not say "First Inaugural", that is redundant. Since, as you say, inaugural means marking the beginning of a new venture, series, etc, by using inaugural, the audience knows that this is the first time the program has been implemented. You do use annual since it is anticipated that the program will be carried out every year.

Brittany,
There was a script written for you by GOD before you were born, and you are wearing it well. Nothing you do surprises me, but everything you do makes me proud. Be strong, be caring, and always be of GOD, and you will forever persevere Love ya', Jan Tuesday, March 11th 2008 at 7:55PM |
