Looking to Build a Software Career While Also Building a life?
Posted By: Loren Moss on February 09, 2021

Not all software careers require moving to Silicon Valley, working 80 hour weeks, and paying $5,000 per month for a studio apartment. Did you know that there are great career opportunities with excellent compensation in the heartland, with locations in places like Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky?

GE Appliances, an industry leader with a history that goes back over a century is growing and looking for diverse talent to create the software that powers their innovative appliances!

Ideal candidates will be proficient in C and C++ and ideally would have majored in electrical engineering or computer science. Experience in embedded systems is essential.

GE Appliances is aggressively developing connected, “smart” appliances, and software engineers have the opportunity to participate in the development of products from concept to market, supported by a great company culture and ample learning and career advancement opportunities.

These roles are brand new, due to the company’s commitment to innovation, and candidates will be able to operate out of GE Appliances’ facilities in Louisville, Kentucky, and the metro-Atlanta, Georgia, or Chattanooga, Tennessee areas.

What you’ll need to Succeed
• B.S. Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering or equivalent
• 3+ Years Embedded Software Development
• Experience with formal software development process (such as Agile)
• Experience in Embedded Software Development Tools & software languages: C / C++
