We are seeking a Human Resources Generalist to work in a hybrid model in Grand Rapids, MI.

This role is HYBRID with 3 days in the office in Grand Rapids, MI and the other days remote. We offer full-time benefits and 401k match from day 1, tuition reimbursement, Development Days, and a permissive paid time off policy emphasizing flexibility and trust.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Support our US X-Rite Pantone Associate base and partner with Managers and Sr Managers to provide HR Functional expertise in the areas of employee relations, compensation, engagement, development, and performance management.
  • Lead developing, executing, and communicating the US associate handbook and policies; ensure policies create an inclusive environment and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Own recruiting for hourly Operations Associates including writing job descriptions, attracting diverse talent, leading interviews, and creating offers; use our Workday HRIS system throughout the talent acquisition process.
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required.
  • Participate in Visual Management for the Global HR team ensuring metrics are up to date, accurate, and impactful to align the team and drive process efficiently.
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Own associate immigration process and provide subject matter expertise to the North American HR Team as well as consulting with hiring managers.


Education or Experience (in years):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Communications, or Business Administration
  • A minimum 3 years of experience in HR preferred.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas
  • Excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator
  • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
  • Ability to use and understand data to draw insights and conclusions
  • Must have humility, work with transparency, and work to build trust with team members
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and HRIS systems preferred

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Ability to work in an office environment 3 days per week.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required
