You will work at Radiometer in Carlsbad, California with headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. Responsible for resourcing and directing the activities of multidisciplinary product development teams in the U.S. and coordinating and interfacing to the global R&D function! You will lead a team of 10-12 direct reports together with an organization of about 30 associates. As a part of senior leadership for Radiometer, you will have a significant impact on the organization of over 300 people in two locations in Carlsbad, California and New Brighton, Minnesota, participating in the business planning, developing the business R&D strategy and impacting the transition of the site towards a modern med-tech company!

Responsibilities

• Establish R&D/departmental priorities, project priorities and resulting project timelines consistent with Radiometers business strategy

• Ensure resourced APs for strategic and tactical priorities, ensure traction and OTD through monthly deep dive reviews and prioritized resource allocations

• Provide a pro-active contribution to Radiometer senior leadership team supporting the cross-functional set-up of the site and ensuring the engagement of the associates from all the functions

• Ensure the right professional and expert level of competences within blood gas analysis, sensor- and system-related technologies inside the organization

• Establish strategic direction for the initiation and implementation of new technical programs consistent with Radiometer's overall product roadmap

• Communicate with Radiometer senior leaders, sales subsidiaries and distributors of Radiometers products in support of product performance, quality, troubleshooting and strategic direction of future products (VOC)

• Collaborate with Operations and RA/QA staff in the development of processes to support product development, product quality, delivery, cost and safety

• Support all aspects of regulatory compliance within the organization, adhering to applicable rules and regulations and supporting on-site regulatory audits

• Be on top of potential ground-breaking trends and technologies and ensure strong innovation within both (a member of L2) the Radiometer global R&D organizations (aligned to the companys mission and vision

• Lead Radiometer's joint development activities with Radiometer in Denmark, fostering cross-organizational collaboration in order to achieve common business and commercial objectives

• Serve as a role model for DBS (Danaher Business System) across the global R&D organization

• Lead the departmental activities related to employee engagement and improved D&I objectives

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Engineering or Physical Sciences

• 5+ years of related technical managerial experience

• 7+ years of related experience

• Organizational change experience in both people and performance processes

• Experience with sensor design and development, systems engineering and integration including hardware and software, reagent design and development

• Experience working in a highly regulated industry

• Ability to travel 10-20% of time to various Radiometer locations, mainly the US and Denmark

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Engineering or Physical Sciences

• Experience with the medical device industry
