Sales Support Specialist - Immunohistochemistry

The Sales Support Specialist - Immunohistochemistry is the primary touch point for the field sales team for product and basic commercial information for their respective vertical. With support and coordination from the CDL, the Sales Support Specialist is the broadcast voice out to the sales organization providing product and business vertical insights and updates. This role is also responsible for commercial enablement of the team including supporting commercial tools, demo execution, and responses to all technical product inquiries from the sales team. Timeliness of response to questions, a strong organizational skill set, and a positive energy and drive to serve the field sales team are critical for this role. Working in concert with their respective Commercial Development Leader (CDL), the Sales Support Specialist will keep the field sales team informed and supported to execute and drive sales results.

  • Primary point for all product information for Immunohistochemistry with liaison responsibility to the other business verticals as needed

  • Deliver periodic training on commercial tools, positioning of commercial messages - e.g. supply, and additional ad hoc field based support

  • Provides commercial sales support and insights back to the commercial team through voice of sales and voice of customer

  • Listening to the voice of sales creates and develops sales enablement resources or tools to maximize the efficiency of the sales team

  • Prioritizes product allocation to customers with support and collaboration from the respective Commercial Development Leader (CDL)

  • Leads communication activities through ALL CALLS, such as but not limited to: relevant platform updates, product disruptions, discontinuation of service for products and related matters

  • Coordinates customer VIP site visits and virtual product demonstrations

  • Assists sales team and internal customers in routing content collateral for MAPSS approval as appropriate

  • Informs Sales teams of available content on Showpad for respective business and provides updates on commercial tools as appropriate

  • Working in concert with their respective Commercial Development Leader (CDL), to keep the field sales team informed and supported to execute and drive sales results

Required Education, Experience, Skills

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field required (i.e., Marketing, Business, Education, Communications, Laboratory Technology, Biology, etc.).

  • MBA degree preferred

Experience/Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, commercial marketing, product management, or similar functions supporting Immunohistochemistry

  • Experience with medical device or diagnostic industry

  • Expertise in presenting to executive-level stakeholders and field sales associates

  • Strong written communication skill sets - developing presentations and communications

  • Demonstration of project, team leadership, strong organizational skill sets

Desired Education, Experience, Skills

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in related field required, MBA required

Experience/Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, commercial marketing, product management, or similar functions supporting Immunohistochemistry

  • Experience with medical device or diagnostic industry

  • Expertise in presenting to executive-level stakeholders and field sales associates

  • Strong written communication skill sets - developing presentations and communications

  • Demonstration of project, team leadership, strong organizational skill sets

  • Contract negotiation/high level selling experience or selling in a matrixed environment preferred

  • Experience with Salesforce.com or another CRM
