Job Description

The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

Responsible for supervising and developing a team of mortgage sales consultants in a telephone sales environment, ensuring that production goals and customer needs are met while generating quality loans compliant with company policy and procedure. Duties include any or all of the following: coaching and developing a positive and productive work environment; coordinating and building relationships with business partners; monitoring performance for quality, efficiency and sales improvement opportunities; developing sales and referral skills; creating individual development plans with staff; maintaining adequate staffing level to meet goals; ensuring that regulatory licensure and continuing education requirements are met; identifying risk and making sound recommendations to management; communicating company policy, procedures, and practices. Primary focus is on day-to-day operational execution and sales effectiveness within a small sales force. This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results. Individuals in a SAFE position also must meet the Loan

  • Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.


Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of sales experience
  • 3+ years of customer service experience

  • Leadership experience; including the ability to coach teams, exceed departmental objectives, motivate, and provide performance feedback, all in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
  • Outstanding problem solving skills and experience resolving escalated/complex customer issues
  • Experience identifying additional opportunities to sell products and services to customers
  • Customer service focus with experience actively listening, eliciting information, comprehending customer issues/needs, and recommending solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to handle information professionally and confidentially

Job Expectations

  • This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will initiate the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) web site (http://fedregistry.nationwidelicensingsystem.org ) provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
  • This position requires compliance with all mortgage regulatory requirements and Wells Fargo's compliance policies related to these requirements including acceptable background check investigation results. Successful candidates must also meet ongoing regulatory requirements including additional screening and required reporting of certain incidents.
