Job Description
Director, Digital Vendor Management Office
**ROLE SUMMARY**

The Director, Vendor Management Office (VMO) will lead and evolve a VMO function with the goal of maximizing the value of sourcing programs and service provider relationships for Pfizer Digital in partnership with Digital Leadership. This role will drive results across Pfizer Digital by developing innovative strategies to manage costs and mitigate risks across vendors while continuously improving the value and quality of services received. To ensure value is being delivered by vendors, initial focus will be:

+ Creation and leadership of vendor governance comprised of Digital and Vendor Leaders

+ Design, pilot, and refine initial VMO processes to drive results

+ Develop monitoring and reporting tools and standards to ensure Pfizer Digital objectives are achieved

To achieve this, the VMO Director will bring exemplary sourcing and demand management subject matter expertise, supplier relationship management and risk management skills, as well as significant data analysis, industry trending and benchmarking capabilities to ensure proactive and innovative strategies are delivered to meet business requirements. The VMO Director will be accountable for delivering the responsibilities outlined in the following section, as well as providing coaching for junior VMO colleagues, working in a matrixed fashion. Prior experience in managing and overseeing technology vendor relationships is preferred.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**

+ VMO Strategy

+ Set the strategic direction for the VMO

+ Lead development and implementation of a clear Digital Vendor Management vision

+ Monitor performance and outcomes of VMO activity to identify opportunities for improvement

+ Continuously improve VMO effectiveness (e.g., introducing new capabilities, refining processes)

+ Build awareness of Vendor Management Strategy via communications and stakeholder outreach to drive alignment

+ Governance

+ Lead VMO governance activity, including regular and ad hoc meetings with key stakeholders (e.g., Digital Leadership, Global Procurement, Finance, Vendor Leadership)

+ Lead development of the definition, pilot, and implementation of VMO processes to facilitate vendor oversight from a relationship, financial, and operational perspective

+ Manage vendor management tools, systems, processes, and policies for Pfizer Digital

+ Identify, develop mitigation plans for, socialize, and escalate risks and issues relating to Pfizer Digital's key vendors

+ Ensure smooth execution of all day-to-day operations of VMO-related activities

+ Reporting:

+ Lead development, tracking, and reporting of appropriate vendor performance and continuous improvement metrics to monitor and drive results

+ Create executive-level reporting on vendor performance and VMO processes

+ Collaborate with Global Procurement to provide executive level reporting on Digital vendor strategy to drive adherence and alignment

+ Benchmark industry practices and lead the adoption within Pfizer as applicable

+ Sourcing Process Optimization:

+ Develop and drive adoption of innovative solutions and strategies for sourcing vendor support/resources in partnership with Global Procurement - moving from need identification to delivery of services with speed while maintaining competitive tension

+ Provide line of sight to negotiation leverage opportunities

+ Collaborate with Global Procurement on critical sourcing events to optimize outcomes, such as cost and service quality

+ Strategically align vendor capacity with Pfizer demand in a way that optimizes cost, value, and performance for Pfizer in collaboration with Creation Center leaders

+ Relationship Management

+ Structure strategic relationships with top vendor partners and partner with Digital Leadership to manage relationships at a strategic level

+ Foster strong vendor relationships for Pfizer's benefit, coordinating across the enterprise with other Pfizer stakeholders

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Bachelor's Degree required.

+ 10+ years of combined relevant experience in pharmaceutical or health and science industry, with a vendor/procurement and business acumen

+ Strong sense of accountability and personal ownership

+ Analytical and negotiation skills and techniques

+ Subject Matter Expertise in procurement processes, procedures, and systems

+ Must have the ability to prioritize issues and drive progress in ambiguous situations.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.

+ Collaborate effectively with stakeholders from multiple areas

+ Demonstrated ability to build and develop organizational talent

+ Ability to work in a complex, matrix environment

+ Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**

Master's Degree desirable.

+ Technical Skills:

+ Change agile and ability to act on projects quickly

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office, working knowledge of ERP systems and sourcing tools

+ Knowledge and proficiency with Ariba systems

+ Leadership Skills:

+ Works well in a collaborative team environment

+ Ability to guide others in the organization to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact

+ Willingness to contribute fresh and innovative ideas and lead new improvement initiatives

+ Organized and able to work on a variety of projects simultaneously

+ Demonstrated business acumen

**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**

Expected to occasionally work extended hours, including weekends to support meetings with international c ollaborators .

Up to approximately 25% travel
