Sr. Manager, Workday Release Management|
The Sr. Manager, Workday Release Management is a Global role that reports to the Director, Workday Release and Functional Testing under the GBS HR, Business Process Design, Data Management and Solutions team.
This position is a globally impacting role and is responsible for the overall Pfizer Release Management strategy, providing support of both Pfizer releases and bi-annual Workday Releases, as well as overseeing the general administration of Workday and the Pfizer Change Request workspace. The role will also play a critical role in the management of audit and compliance-related activities as the owner of the SOPs related to the Change Request processes.
+ Develop and manage plans for the bi-annual Workday releases and Pfizer releases.
+ Provide project management support for ongoing Stage gate management and Release Planning processes for all Pfizer Releases, working in close coordination with the HR Solutions team leads.
+ Manage and communicate a comprehensive Tenant management strategy for Workday, including the alignment of project activities with specific tenants, managing the refresh schedules and SSO alignment of the tenants, and maintenance/ upkeep of the Tenant Center in the HR Ops Change Management workspace.
+ Responsible for the overall management and execution of the Pfizer HR On Demand Change Request process, including ownership of the Change Control SharePoint site, ongoing maintenance and improvements, and auditing/ supervision of the usage of the system by all teams across HR Operations and HRBT.
+ Partner closely with all teams within HR Operations to address ongoing changes to the Release Planning and HR On Demand release processes and tools, including close coordination with the Colleague Services Enablement and Digital teams on all large releases.
+ Conducts reviews of Workday cases and leads overall incident management activities, including addressing and escalating Workday outages and performance issues, managing the Pfizer named support contacts, access to Workday community, tracking open Workday cases, Workday training credit administration, and other system support activities.
+ Participate in the annual Pfizer systems audit, while ensuring that all teams working in the HR Operations space are meeting Compliance objectives. This includes strategic ownership of our Change Request SOPs and working closely with the Compliance team to ensure process adherence.
+ Responsible for maintaining overall release plans and release coordination across Workday and associated applications
+ Responsible for reviewing Workday's bi-annual releases, working cross-functionally to determine potential impacts and coordinating the maintenance and proper storage of all documentation for compliance purposes.
+ Applies technical and functional knowledge to manage and drive Adoption planning across all sub-functional areas for Workday, including identifying functionality from each release that could/should be considered for uptake during each standard release (road map items).
+ Develops innovative options for ongoing continuous improvement opportunities in our Change Request Workspace, and manage vendor relationships for applications support.
+ Work on other global, regional and local HR Operations projects, as needed
+ Bachelor's degree in HR, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline required
+ 7+ years project management and strategic planning experience, demonstrated experience managing cross-border and cross-functional projects required
+ 3+ years working in the Workday infrastructure doing configuration, adoption planning, release management, quality assurance testing or integrations work required
+ functional understanding of the Workday solution and Software-as-a-Service environment
+ Proven analytical, organizational, project management, problem-solving and issue-resolution skills in a global cross-functional team environment.
+ Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and partnering skills with both technical and functional end users.
+ Excellent organizational and oral/written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
+ Capacity to work independently and operate in a fast-paced environment as part of a Global Team.
+ Experience with SOX and Compliance audits required
+ Cross-HR functional knowledge preferred e.g. HR administration, benefits and compensation, staffing, talent, HRIS, Reporting and Analytics, Compliance, etc.
+ Proven ability to deliver results on a cross functional, global basis without regard to official reporting lines
+ Ability to operate and deliver results in a matrixed organization, and influence others at more senior levels to engage and deliver where needed
+ Ability to make decisions in the absence of full information, and provide appropriate guidance and support to the team
+ Strategic orientation to owning and resolving issues; decisiveness and accountability
+ Strong understanding of change management principles and ability to naturally integrate the appropriate change management steps into project delivery
+ Ability to influence and negotiate without formal direct authority, consultative in approach; diplomatic.
+ 5+ years of Workday configuration, adoption planning and release management Subject matter expertise
+ MBA or graduate degree in a business discipline preferred
+ PMP certification a plus
**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**
+ Ability to work Monday to Friday in a global environment which will require occasional off-hours conference calls
+ Ability to work weekend hours (typically Saturdays) for major Workday or Pfizer releases for implementation/ hyper care support needs
+ Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
