Job Description

Our Wells Fargo Auto team offers integrated financial services solutions designed primarily for the auto dealer community, providing financing and related services to both dealers and consumers nationwide.

The Wells Fargo Auto Self Assurance Activities (SAA) team is looking for two highly qualified Operational Risk Consultant 2's to join the team. The Operational Risk Consultant 2's will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based Quality Monitoring program to identify, assess and mitigate any operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. These positions may provide Quality Monitoring oversight to an operational risk program; works with assigned business units and provides operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk. They may provide senior-level support for systems security-related issues; develop Quality Monitoring testing strategies and methodologies; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; analyzes business and/or systems changes to determine impact; identifies and assesses operational risk issues and assigns risk ratings consistent with established policy standards. The ORC 2's will consult with business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change. Identifies training opportunities; may design/coordinate the development of training materials and delivers training. Reports findings and drafts recommendations to mitigate risk to operational risk and business line management. Coordinates production of periodic operational risk performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies. May manage project teams and provide guidance to less experience specialists/consultants.

  • Build and/or modify self-assurance activities for Quality Monitoring scorecards
  • Build new self-assurance activities based on business process key risk and controls
  • Make modifications to existing self-assurance activities
  • Collaborate with business partners and leadership with self-assurance activities
  • Analyze business and/or systems changes to determine potential customer impact; identifies and assesses operational risk issues and assigns/evaluate risk ratings consistent with established policy standards
  • Analysis for assigned Auto Compliance and Operational Risk process reviews and provide factual observations and recommendations
  • Provide structured feedback on findings and recommendations to the line of business leadership team
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance Analysts to articulate findings in clear, concise manner

Required Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both demonstrated through work or military experience
  • 1+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: additional compliance, additional operational risk management, IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience demonstrated through work or military experience; or a BS/BA degree or higher in business or a related field
