Putting Yourself through School: 5 Great Jobs to Fund Your Education
Posted By: Dixie Somers on May 07, 2019

Finding a job that will work around your college schedule may be a challenge. Below are five good-paying jobs that will help you meet the demands of classes and homework while earning the money you need. These suggestions will also give you more than money.

Fitness Instructor

Do you like to work out? Put this skill to use and get a job at a gym. Even if you start out covering the front desk, this is a gig that could give you free access to the gym equipment, including a shower to help save on your home water bill. Plus, you could get paid to work out.

Sales Clerk

If you’re building a professional wardrobe for your future, check out jobs in the retail industry. Not only will you probably get a discount, but you can see what products get returned for poor quality and know what not to buy. Finally, if you’ve got friends who will also need professional business attire, you can put your discount to work for others.

Restaurant or Bar Server

Don’t let anyone tell you this work is an easy way to make tips. Good servers need to be organized, fast and aware of their surroundings. However, this is a great way to always have cash in your pocket. Even better, while your classmates are out spending money on the weekends, you’ll be making money.

Security Guard

Getting on with a security company is a great way to build up your resume, get free training and have very flexible hours. If you can tolerate working nights, you may actually earn more than guards do for daytime security jobs. Additionally, this training can help you build awareness of potentially dangerous situations, a skill that will serve you throughout your life.

House Sitting or Caretaking

If your school is part of a large city, check out caretaker options in your area. By serving as a caregiver, you could reduce your rent payments substantially and get to live in a beautiful home. Your job would be keeping the house ready to show and making sure it looks lived in. This may mean living out of a suitcase, but you would probably be placed in a lovely home with all the amenities, including a security system. Before you buy furniture, check out this job possibility.

You could get paid to learn, work out, try on clothes and live in a beautiful house. Keep your eyes open for the best deals!
