The Fitness Manager within the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance will manage all fitness and wellness operations and programming at the Fitness and Recreation Center (FitRec) and other satellite locations including the Fitness and Wellness Center (FitWell) at the Blackstone Community Center and medical campus. This individual oversees the fitness departments full-time and part-time and student staff, facilities and all programming including Group Exercise, Personal Training, Sports Performance Training and Physical Education and Adult and Family Recreation classes. The Fitness Manager is a leadership position responsible for providing an inspirational vision for fitness and wellness programming and enriching the member experience. This requires an individual to be well informed of current and emerging trends in the industry that will meet the needs of our students, members, faculty and staff.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Education: Bachelorís Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Public Health, or related field
Preferred Education: Masterís Degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Public Health, or related field
Personal Training Certification
Group Exercise Instructor Certification
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (preferred)
CPR and First Aid Certification
