Development Officer
The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Foundation (VMFAF) has an exciting opportunity for a qualified candidate to fill the role of Development Officer in the Office of Development/Advancement.  The Development Officer will assist the Manager of Individual Giving in the identification, cultivation and successful solicitation of a pool of prospects and donors of outright and planned gifts which meet the fundraising goals and priorities of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

The successful candidate will have strong writing and communication skills and excellent organizational abilities.  The Development Officer must have the ability to work as a collegial team member within the development office, with colleagues in the museum and with key volunteers including Trustees and Directors. Must be conversant with fundraising issues and trends as well as museum issues and trends.  Additionally, the candidate must exhibit the willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel occasionally.

Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors Degree is required; advanced degree preferred. Experience in successful major gift solicitations and closings required, as is expertise with a donor database (i.e. Raisers Edge).  Minimum of seven (7)  years development experience with a proven track record of success.
