I am a lifelong resident of New Orleans 9th ward neighborhood, which is in my opinion, a beautiful city. People who live here complain about moving to other cities because not much is being done in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. I always tell them that no matter where you live, CRIME, HOMELESSNESS and RACISM remains the problem. It is up to us as a people to change that.
If the world were mine for a day, I would Put An End To Violent Crime, Provide More Jobs And Better Education.

I am doing fantastically well, no drama in my life--lots of wonderful sites and brothers and sisters I am meeting, very professional, about doing something, writing a movie script, running my 12 websites, going to Vegas' , have been a guest on 4 blogtalk radio shows and have a date going forward to Sept 16th..finishing my book, agent for Jazz pianist-- trying to lose some gut! Give my warmest wishes to the NOI sister/ brotherhood, though I could go there,I am not--this site is toxic and intoxicating!! the yin and yang of life, thanks for thinking of me!!

My sister, I would love to invite you into my circle of awareness and guidance. I have done much spiritual and historical research on many topics which led me to accepting Islam as my faith. Although, I am not a practicing follower of Islam I still vouch for all Muslims around the world who indeed practice this faith in peace….. I welcome you….

HELP SAVE DOUGLASS HIGH FROM CLOSURE! Word is that my alma mater Frederick Douglass High School is scheduled for closure in June 2009. The Recovery School District has advised the Douglass Steering Committee that students will NOT be sent to portable (trailer) classes this fall. They are moving ahead (despite our opposition) with plans for a Public Safety Academy, with a curriculum geared toward police, emergency, and other public service careers. A group has been formed to ensure that community input is listened to and acted on by RSD superintendent Paul Vallas. The group, Frederick Douglass Coalition, is composed of many community groups as well as neighbors, parents, teachers, and students at Douglass. Discussion has included the possibility of returning the school to NOPS; continuing the development of Douglass as a performing arts school; questioning the price tag of renovation; etc. If you or anyone reading this attended Douglass High School in New Orleans, please pass this on, thank you for caring. This is the only surviving high school in New Orleans 9th ward and children in this area need a school to keep them off the streets. You may also visit the websites www.savefrederickdouglass.com and www.douglassbobcats.ning.com for more info. Sincerely, Siebra Muhammad Registration Clerk New Orleans Public Schools
