I came to Florida A&M with no money, a trash bag with clothes in it on the Monday that school had started after a friend of mine had seen me standing back on the street corners after graduating from Junior College (Manatee Community College) with my A.A. Degree (Pre-Law).
They were on their way up to Tallahassee on a Sun night and I decided to go.
Long story, I had no place else to go.
So making it to Florida A&M University (the rest is Blessed history) and graduating with my Bachelor's degree. Political Science/Psychology. I was in the Physical Therapy program for 1 1/2 years.
For me to graduate from college was a miracle against the grain of the world and many.
I am completing my 1st book (A Spiritual/Auto-Biographical/Inspirational/Motivational), a Memoir titled "When My Father and Mother Forsake Me". Based on Psalm 27:10.
I have had Article's Nationally published, also in Canada, such as "How Men Should Treat Women".
I am seeking a Masters in Counseling via Liberty U. Graduate of Divinity program. I also have my goals of my M.B.A. I also aspire which has been my heart since my earliest years to enter Lawschool. I have prayed for when I was at Florida A&M, to gain their Law School back after being taken back in the late 60's. They now have their new Lawschool in Orlando, FL. I have my eye out for them in my Loyalty and have visited. I also know Orlando very well... "Seek Ye 1st and then everything else Will Be Added Unto You, i.e. Matt 6:33. This does not mean perfection but sure helps a heck of a lot in what one seeks to do in Life, thus I seek my Masters in Divinity before all else. Between Graduate School and my Book this time in my life is a very busy one but the building stones to All that is now near (2008) and for all the rest that Will come for me from God.
I am proud, loyal and devoted to my Alma Mater...
I seek to do what has not been done before for the community. That is to address the high recidivism rate of those who are in and out of the court system. It is due to the fact that they have the same problems when they come out. I have been there where many struggle at. I seek to be unique in providing legal, financial and spiritual counseling to those in need. I have worked for years counseling mainly adolescents but as of late, adults.
I AM DESTINED TO BE GREAT. Not conceited, just convinced (Heb 10:35).
Much Luv and Peace.
"God" Bless to all, appreciate the time for reading.
Sincerely
William

| Most Memorable Moment: |
| Entering and Graduating from Florida A&M University.
Oh I Interned at the State Department of Insurance in Tallahassee. I was rated the top 2nd year Law Clerk but I was only a Senior in college. I was assisting a lot of people even an Aunt and Uncle back home.
I assisted Lawyers in major lawsuits against Insurance companies raising their rates upwards of 100% after Hurricane Andrew and also discrimination.
You would be surprised at some of the things,
well-known Insurance companies and their agents were doing to people.
I also have to add, becoming a Mason while in the Army and achieving Sergeant/E-5 were also major obstacles to overcome, claim, achieve, pray for and be Blessed.
I caught up with my college room mate K.B. and his wife after something like 10 yrs. Come to find out we both were trying to catch up with each other.
I was blessed to make contact via this website, in which I mentioned as one of my goals... |

What does friendship mean to you? |
"I most relate true friendships to some scriptures I know such as Proverbs 18:24, Proverbs 17:17, Proverbs 27:6, Proverbs 27:9 & 10, Proverbs 27:17 and Hebrews 13:1-3.
I hope this is cool to answer your question like this."

What do you like most about HBCU Connect? |
"HBCU has been a major Blessing for me, it has been a thrill and a joy to meet soo many good bright people here. I think as much as I have commented at this site and for this site, I can not compare in words the value of this site for people.
I wish the best for all and exponential continued growth.
My sincerest appreciations...
Peace.

How do you handle your imperfections? |
"I never quit. I can't...
Have You read about some of those folk in the Bible? 2 Corinthians 12:7-10.
Think about this, where would you have been if You got some things earlier? God knew.
You notice some of those younger folk on t.v., media, radio, etc? Many grow older and what do most of them do? Continue in it and get worst and flame out.
I have said before that the reason many are not what they perceive as rich is because they can't handle it. Why be a billionaire and disclaim Jesus?
I once had a good laugh with a Minister. I asked him "Am I getting old?". He replied, "depends on who you ask". If you ask someone 70, they will call you young, Lol! In the Bible, You were not considered grown until age 40. Thats why if you notice the age of most in the Bible, they were 40. Jesus was 30...
I see 50 and 60 year old people in the gym blowing kids right out the gym and on the track.
I saw a guy in the gym bench pressing and I thought he was my age. I said waddup dude. he look at me and said "man I'm 55 years old". Lets just say, I chose not to work out bench pressing with him, Lol! Its a man thang! I thought I was strong, I waited until he left! Lol!"

HOW STRONG IS YOUR FAITH, AND HOW DO YOU MEASURE THE STRENGTH OF FAITH ALONE? |
"I just answered a interview question for someone, maybe you would like to read it, it is in reference to Faith...
My Faith & Strength? I never quit and My name means Determination and Great Protector...
Do you or have you looked up your name meaning? For those by chance that may not have a name meaning or were given a bad charge in life by people, ask Jabez. 1Chronicles 4:9-10.
Jabez asked God for a name change/new name meaning/new charge in Life...
It's amazing that most whose names have a meaning have been living that name meaning and did not know why... They just did what they had to do. Destiny/Greatness."

In one word, what makes you happy? |
""Hope"... I know you requested an answer with one word Sis, but thats hard for me to do in short. I want to make clear what I mean by "Hope" in short. I believe before one can have faith, before you can believe in GOD/JESUS, you have to have something to receive (i.e Choice). Before Faith which is the connector to God/Jesus, there has to be hope in the choice to have Faith which is Believing. When people falter what happens to get back up and moving again? Ask Peter in the New Testament one of the Apostles/Disciples of JESUS for Adults.
For all youth ask Isaiah 40:28-31...
Lastly, for Everyone that can relate, when You had nothing or nobody, what else did You have?
"Hope"...
Kids are great/ the best at that right?
"Hope"...

What time is it? |
"Time to reach new levels in 2008... Never stop Hoping, Dreaming, Goaling, Aspiring, Believing..., etc. To be anything else is not living. Of course that is my opinion.
Just my 2cents worth in answering your interview question."

what motivates you? |
"God, the Bible, cloudy rainy weather, youth, those who are less fortunate, sports, good books, Miami Dolphins, issues out there in the world, beaches, action movies, WWE wrestling, grilling, great music, good preaching, watching Michael Jordan play basketball, dancing, health and fitness, going to the barbershop, etc., I can't get too much more personal than this sis w/o being told TMI! Lol!"

If you got it on your mind then get it off your chest |
"Why does Barak Osama get grilled about his faith and not all the other Presidential hopefuls who had Pastors make controversial comments in past??? I said this to a few folk who were talking about Barak, you may guess their cultural affiliation... I asked them, "Mitt Romney is a Mormon... The Mormons historically did not allow blacks and when they did, they were not allowed to hold any positions in that religion (They just voted recently to allow blacks to hold positions)... Mitt Romney is a devout Mormon..."
Hope this is interesting enough for one of my 2cents worth, Lol!
No one questioned Mitt Romney on that, who came close to winning the Republican Presidential nomination and is prsently being considered a Vice Presidential candidate by John McCain and is being suggested by some Republicans.
Enough said."

Are you in a Fraterrnity or Sorrority? |
"Hi Sis, I did not join a Fraternity while in college. I was older, 26 when I came to FAMU out of the Army. When I saw what those teens respectfully were doing to people I knew and roommates, I said I'll wait till I graduate and go Grandchapter respectfully. I did visit with various Fraternities having friends and family a part of them. I do have plans to join the Kappa's.
I joined the Masons while in the Army years ago. That was another deciding factor in not joining a Fraternity. I knew guys that were Masons that were in Fraternities and they knew what I went to in order to be a part of the Masonic Order, I was not willing to do by guys younger than my baby brother. No dis meant to anyone.
Hope I answer You good enough here."

What is your favorite hobby? |
"I have soo many from Writing, which I can say evolved into a profession, to watching weather/meteorology, I like to study up on things, reading, florestry, cooking, sports, health, volunteering with youth, blogging, poetry (done a few times when inspired), running (honestly its a man thing like playing basketball against younger to compete...), etc.etc.etc. What ever catches my mind to do. I've thought of taking up boxing at a local club for health and exercise, just to see how I can do and pick up some things... Oh and I've always been a lover of music... Oh and being my own Entrepreneur which is developing..."

If I met your best friend, what would be the first thing they told me about you? |
"Inspirational, I let nothing stop me. I talk about my boy K.B., my room mate in college on my profile. After years of lost contact, I caught up with him via this website coincidentally. Come to find out he and his wife and mom were trying to catch up with me.
When we talked, we both exchanged all our information to make sure we would never lose contact again.
One deep thing we both stated in our phone conversation after all those years was, "We met as boys and now we talk and will meet as grown men..."
One of the first things K.B. said was he remembered me showing up to FAMU with that black plastic bag with all my things in it stating, "I have no other choice, I can't go back home, I have to make it here".
To make a long story short, I showed up to FAMU the Monday that school started, I had not priorly enrolled.
I almost did a blog on catching up with my boy K.B., especially since I had talked about him on this site. There are many reasons I talk about FAMU as a mother and lifeline for me. I met some good family there that I considered brothers, I met some good sisters there as well, but to be real and honest, I was a different person back then.

What is the #1 thing you like about HBCUConnect.com? |
"This site has been a major blessing to me because of the staff and all the friends, associates and networks I have made here. Also this site has enhanced my writing and although I was here to meet people this site far and beyond has been a major unexpected boost in promoting and advertising what I do. I have been invited to other websites, I have participated at other previous websites and I brag about HBCU all the time. It came to me again the other night and a point I make in my book that the young folk here are soo positive, ambitious, they dream verses other sites where the older generation try to tear you down because of what they have not done for themselves.
I thought of the woman caught in the act of adultery and Jesus saved her. There were no young folk there... Just look at the world, i.e. media, community, Church etc. Mostly middle age to seniors. Not all, just some, but enough of them. When young folk try to make a move in this world, who are the first in general to thwart dreams? This site is a major conduit to promote the younger generation with a mix of alumnus and older adults who benefit by giving and receiving. A perfect mix. I draw strength and rejuventation from here. This is why I state this site blesses me far more. In general young folk say dream big, limitless, older say whoa thats too much. But God says (Scriptures are loaded about the impossible)? I am not talking about the wisdom and knowledge, I'm talking about those who are negative. I know you have your stories to share as well. That would make a great blog, Bro! I can write a chapter for my 2cents worth on what this site has meant to me. I still sport the HBCU.Com t-shirt I received from here and I can see myself on the public stage sporting FAMU Rattla (of course!) paraphrenalia as well as HBCU.com. Like Bill Cosby does... I hope I did not write too much here Lol! Peace. "
