Job Description
Development Coordinator
The Development Coordinator is a key position designed to help GirlForward scale program impact through increased funding. This position will be responsible for developing relationships with new and existing GirlForward donors to raise funds to support planned organizational growth and initiatives. The Development Coordinator will be responsible for creating, implementing, and executing strategic fundraising efforts alongside the Executive Director. This candidate will play an instrumental role in ensuring that GirlForward’s charitable giving and mission-focused donor base significantly grows. The role will include the management of a large, personal portfolio as well as assisting the Executive Director with managing her portfolio.

Responsibilities
» Play a significant role in the creation, scheduling, and execution of the annual development plan and strategy
» Support Executive Director with soliciting and executing of the organization’s Top 30 donor relationships
» Advise and assist Executive Director in implementing donor development strategies for specific projects and events
» Oversight of donor database and records of charitable giving through online donor management system
» Design and implement donor cultivation plans for each person in portfolio
» Identify, plan, and host major and mid-level donor enrollment events
» Provide oversight to organization’s annual events by working closely with board committees, volunteers, and staff
» Produce up-to-date fundraising reports for staff, management, and board as required
» Identify and create new donor relationships and fundraising opportunities
» Identify visual tools and presentations needed to communicate vision and need to donor portfolio
» Represent GirlForward at donor meetings and external community events
» Manage gift fulfillment and reporting to donors to ensure annual retention
» Host regular development meeting to update appropriate team members on fund raising activities
» Support the Executive Director with grant identification, writing, submittal, and follow up process

Initial Metrics (18 – 24 Months)
» Lead efforts to raise annual contributed support by $250,000 - $400,000 within first 18 -24 months of employment
» Grow personal portfolio of individuals giving gifts of $1,000 - $10,000+ as reflected on gift chart
» Create new donor relationships (portfolio) of 40-60 individuals who give gifts of $2,000+ annually
» Create new donor relationships (portfolio) of 10-20 businesses who give gifts of $5,000+ annually
» Identify and engage key individuals or businesses to secure (5) 50,000+ annual gifts within three years
Qualifications & Requirements
» Five years of direct sales, relational fundraising, and/or business development experience
» Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent prior experience
» Proven track record for setting and achieving revenue goals
» Demonstrated ability to prospect, cultivate, and manage new accounts and constituents
» Strong work ethic and self-motivated demeanor
» A passion for and general knowledge of the vision and mission of GirlForward
» Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
» Excellent project management skills
» Tenacity in seeking results and a high level of negotiation skills
» Ability to make decisions and take initiative
» Creative, flexible character and a generator of new ideas
» Proven ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
